Private Structuring

Refining existing strategies. Strengthening lawful privacy.

Refining existing asset strategies and complex private structures spanning multiple jurisdictions is our specialty. William Blackstone Internacional does not create asset strategies; we work to perfect those already in place. For individuals and families whose affairs extend beyond a single national framework, we bring together jurisdictional analysis, documentary precision and implementation coordination, examining the international picture as a whole with lawful privacy at the centre of each refinement. This is a selective practice for matters in which discretion, personal continuity and the consequences of each cross-border decision deserve particular attention.

Complexity across borders. Coherence by design.

A decision that appears straightforward in one jurisdiction may depend on records, relationships or requirements in another. Add multiple residences, family members and professional advisers, and the real challenge becomes the architecture connecting them. Our work occupies the space between established disciplines. We examine how jurisdictions interact with the individual’s circumstances, how the supporting record holds together and how each stage should follow the next. The objective is to strengthen the coherence, documentation and practical execution of an existing strategy that cannot be reduced to a single product, jurisdiction or professional task.

Privacy, built on a lawful foundation.

Our signature is the careful refinement of existing private arrangements, with legitimate discretion central to the review. We examine where privacy can be strengthened within the relevant legal boundaries, proposing improvements to the existing strategy for professional legal review. Disclosure, reporting, beneficial-ownership and other applicable obligations inform the work from the beginning, alongside the client’s personal and family priorities. The objective is a private arrangement whose discretion has a sound, explainable basis. Privacy should be supported by the quality of the structure, the integrity of the record and the legitimacy of its purpose.

The substance of a private mandate

Each engagement focuses on refining an existing asset strategy through a defined combination of strategic analysis, documentary work and coordination, tailored to the accepted scope. This may encompass a comparative assessment of relevant jurisdictions, potential refinements to existing pathways, cross-border dependencies and the sequence of decisions, alongside an integrated review of residence histories, civil records, family circumstances and future intentions. We consider the wider arrangement, identifying questions that require specialist legal or regulatory attention before implementation, while mapping the connections between participating individuals and jurisdictions to bring continuity to affairs that may have developed over many years and across different legal systems.

Documentary work may include master chronologies, harmonised records, factual narratives and structured professional briefing materials, creating a coherent, usable record in which material gaps, inconsistencies and dependencies can be identified and addressed. During agreed periods of active work, we coordinate documentation, professional input, milestones and follow-up so that agreed refinements to the existing strategy remain connected to the practical work required at each stage. Legal decisions and formal actions remain with the responsible qualified professionals.

Select engagements involving political exposure

Public responsibility and private life can require particularly careful separation. WBI may consider select engagements involving politically exposed persons (PEPs), their family members and close associates. Each matter is assessed individually, subject to enhanced due diligence, review of source of wealth and source of funds, applicable sanctions and anti-money-laundering requirements, and any further measures required by law. Consideration remains subject to WBI’s eligibility criteria, internal approval and continuing review. The same principle applies throughout: legitimate privacy must remain compatible with applicable public, regulatory and disclosure obligations.

By introduction. By considered acceptance.

Private Structuring is reserved for individually assessed mandates. Scope, sequence and commercial terms are established privately, with acceptance determined by the nature of the matter, the fit with our practice and the applicable eligibility and compliance requirements. Introductions may be made by a law firm or any WBI affiliate. Each prospective client must have their own appropriately licensed lawyer, through whom all case-specific discussions and the engagement are conducted. Where an existing asset strategy or private arrangement would benefit from careful refinement, we welcome a qualified introduction.

Private Structuring is a non-legal strategic, documentary and coordination service focused on reviewing and refining existing asset strategies and private arrangements. It does not include creating new asset strategies. Legal, tax and other regulated advice, formal filings and the establishment or administration of legal entities remain with independently engaged qualified professionals. WBI does not hold or manage client assets. The written engagement defines the scope; no particular outcome is assured.
